I discovered a hidden treasure right here in my amazing hometown, Phoenix, Arizona. I had been working with other textile vendors, who are all located out of state, when I discover H&R Fabrics and its incredible owner, Paula Tocker.

Paula never ceases to amaze me with her knowledge and expertise and she has been instrumental in helping me choose textiles for my new furniture collection. Her staff is equally amazing, friendly and fun to do business in an otherwise hectic business.

I always look forward to visiting their showroom/sales center and making selections, with Paula at my side each and every time. She and her staff of sales associates are always eager to assist me and give me great ideas. It is obvious they truly care about me as a person and the success of my projects.

Paula has the most exceptional selections of luxurious textiles, skins and custom prints for my furniture designs. She is a great source for me as a new designer in the business who recently designed a 35-piece luxurious couture furniture collection for estates, homes, condominiums, lofts and yachts. She has help me source vendors who can produce signature fabrics as well as helping me make selections from other high end vendors. She has introduced me to many beautiful unique selections from all over the world and I can always call her for expert advice.

H&R Fabrics are a 50+ year old family owned and operated business. If you happen to visit the store when her father, Verne, is there, it is an greater experience. The whole family and staff are hard working, dedicated, loyal and passionate about their business and have built a sterling reputation in the industry.

I highly recommend this company and really appreciate the customer service each and every time I need assistance with a particular project. Paula Tocker is on top of the industry, has great relationships, contacts and sources for all designer needs.

Had to redo the dust cover on the box spring of my queen size mattress set. This was the only place out of three that I called that had that unique black fabric in the size that I needed.

As others have suggested, they’re really organized with a huge selection and the employees that I’ve dealt with all were knowledgable and helpful.

I’ll be continuing to patronize this local small business for my fabric/upholstery needs, as few and far between as they may be, from now on.

Today’s visit to H & R Fabrics was the most fun shopping experience I’ve had in a long time! I went in yesterday for foam for reupholstering a chair. A nice man, who I today learned is Victor, explained that I should bring in the pattern or the seat itself for cutting the foam exactly. So I did. He was at the counter helping a customer, but stopped to greet me wholeheartedly, thanking me for coming back – and I had no idea he would remember me!

Another nice guy (Lorenzo) led me to the ‘foam room’ and cut what I needed, after making sure it was exactly what I wanted. I had no idea where to start looking for the perfect fabric, but that’s where Ruthe comes in. She showed me the area I needed, and then specifically the colors and the paisley pattern I was hoping for.

I watched my fabric being cut on their huge, fancy, ACCURATE machine while joking around with the guys, who are funny and charming. That continued all the way through the checkout.

I’m hooked, and can’t wait to go back for other projects (and to meet more of the staff!)
